Terre à Terre Rosé 2017

Very light, developed rose-gold colour, not really pink. The bouquet is very oaky and confirms the accelerated maturity of a barrel-aged wine. There’s a buttery/milky note that suggests a malolactic, and the palate is dry, savoury and slightly grippy, but lacks fruit and charm. It finishes very dry with tannin, oak and acid. With food: a total transformation. Ignore the nose, it is a rich, flavoursome and delicious wine. There is concentration and depth, complexity and an entertaining array of flavours. A serious and very interesting rosé style. (175 dozen made, from the juice pressings over 500 litres per tonne from the sparkling wines, barrel-fermented and aged in 4-year-old oak)
