Medium to deep red/purple; very good colour. Fresh, ripe, clean aromas of red and darker fruits, with a lick of aniseed and some green herb notes.
The tannins are quite firm and sticky, coating the entire interior of the mouth and leaving it very grippy and puckered. Lots of extraction here. It’s very firm, like an old-style Taltarni cabernet – not a common thing in modern Australian red wine. But the tannins seem ripe enough. Cellar this! It has a lot going for it.
