Terre á Terre Crayères Vineyard Shiraz 2016
“The 2016 release is a blend of 88% Shiraz and 12% Cabernet Franc and has seen 10 months in 48% new French oak and a further 18 months in larger oak before spending time in the bottle prior to release. A meagre release as usual with only 4000 bottles made.
The nose enjoys the trappings of new French oak with layers spice that are lifted by plum and blackberry fruits; there is a brooding baseline of dark berry fruits with a line of tannin that is fine but coursing with earthen flare on the palate. Texturally there is significant grip and a moreishness to finish with a rhubarb like tartness that is contrasted by dark fruits and generous oak input.” Patrick Eckel
