It’s a highly aromatic, utterly charming wine of windswept perfume and medium weight. It shows fragrances of wild berries, herb, wet earth and briar, while the palate offers blue fruits, a lick of earthiness, and builds structure around slender ropes of fine, dusty tannins. You don’t see a whole lot of straight cabernet franc from Australia, but as a franc fancier I’m always on the lookout for excellent examples. Cellar for up to 20 years.
