“The 2020 Crayeres Vineyard Reserve comprises 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Shiraz. This is silky and fine, a little leafy through the finish, perhaps, but speaking clearly of red spices—paprika and sumac, pink peppercorns and cloves. The fruit is focused and pure, the tannins are dusty, and the wine is a little bony, yet the lean spool of flavor and entwined spice show elegance and persistence in equal measure. This is an excellent wine here. It’s a little smoky through the finish, but nothing untoward. I like it a lot. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under natural cork.”
