TERRE a Terre – a French expression meaning Down to Earth – is a small family winery run by husband and wife team Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser.
The vineyard is located next to Tapanappa’s Whalebone Vineyard, at the top of a north-south limestone ridge in Wrattonbully, one of Australia’s most exciting wine regions.
The winery produces high quality wines and their limited releases are always eagerly anticipated.
Fortunately for those who have discovered Terre a Terre, Xavier and Lucy keep the wine at an affordable price.
Their latest two releases are a 2013 Cabernets Shiraz and a 2014 Sauvignon Blanc.
2013 Down to Earth Cabernet Shiraz
THE three varieties blend into a beaut red ready for drinking now. The cabernet sauvignon is the predominant at 55%, while shiraz makes up 28% and
cabernet franc finishes off the blend at 17%.
The result is a smooth easy drinking style red.
2014 Down to Earth Sauvignon Blanc
THE white is a good example of a modern Australian sauvignon blanc.
It doesn’t have the big bite that is characteristic of Kiwi green sav blancs, but it still offers intense citrus fruit characteristics.
Down to Earth from Terre a’ Terre is available at independent retailers and at their cellar door.
