After having just tasted nearly 100 Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs, I felt it was time to recalibrate with some Australian examples, and what a way to start. Aromatically, the 2025 Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is talcy and restrained, and the palate follows with sweet pea, tatami mat, green apple and lemongrass. There is a savoury cast to the palate, with enoki mushroom and potentially wafts of chicken broth, both positively contributing to the spectrum of flavours and textures on offer here. As usual, this is very good. 13.9% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. 93 Points
