Terre à Terre Blanc 2015

From Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser of the Bollinger and Croser families, Terre a Terre produces wines of great complexity and elegance, more akin to France than Australia. It’s exciting to see an Australian winery pushing flavour boundaries. This 100% sauvignon blanc is whole-bunch pressed and fermented in large format French oak. It has a really interesting smoky character on the nose, crunchy acidity in the mouth, and legs in the glass: textural, round and soft. There is flint, red currant, red licorice, star anise, lemon pith and green apple skin … complex and balanced. The savoury oak characters are balanced by a lingering sweet finish.\
