“layers of fruit”- 94 points for Piccadilly Rosé 2018

CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

Terre à Terre Piccadilly Valley Rosé 2018

“It’s not often that I reach for a Rose, but when they are as interesting and complete as this one produced by Terre a Terre I am easily swayed.

The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir (82%) and Chardonnay (18%) that was sourced from the Bizot, Heysen, Summertown vineyards. The wine was made from pressings of grapes destined for sparkling base and was fermented in old oak and aged on lees. A burnt orange with pink hues in colour with a nose of wild strawberry that has a peaches and cream aspect afforded by the inclusion of Chardonnay and time on lees.

There is a plushness to the wine with a full mouthfeel that is built on layers of fruit, creamier barrel induced notes and subtle spice. The wine builds with strawberry and red cherry fruit and is stitched together delicate thread of savoury spice and citrus lift. It is Pinot Noir that shines through on the finish with summer berries lingering.”
