The new Sauvignon Blanc plantings look great, with the use of galvanised iron posts for the first time. We also used a new ENTAV clone from the Cher in the Loire Valley, all on rootstocks, and are impatient to see how they will go. Only time will tell.
The Cabernet Sauvignon looks perfectly balanced, with good pruning decisions made and low bud numbers and the Shiraz is leading the growth race with lovely long canes, prospering after a reasonably wet winter and early spring. Flowering has started in all varieties and the weather in the next few weeks will be critical to the success of fruit set… fingers crossed!
