Terre à Terre Rouge 2015
The label states SA but in fact this is from the under-the radar region of Wrattonbully, between Coonawarra and Padthaway. It’s a red blend of a couple of familiar partners in shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, but with a 20 per cent proportion of the lesser known cabernet franc which adds a flavour spark to the otherwise darker fruit spectrum and subtle and superbly integrated spicy barrel notes and superfine powdery tannins. Very drinkable and a splendid food companion
