2012 Sauvignon Blanc – Intriguing, 91+ points

CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

The Terre à Terre label is brought to you by the husband and wife team of Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser. This is the fourth release of their barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc.

A voluptuous wine with a creamy, toasty, tropical fruited nose. Luscious gooseberry and passionfruit with a line of grapefruit acidity running through those flavours. Nutty lees work provides a savoury counterpoint and there’s quite a bit of oaky tannin crimping the finish. Light herbaceous qualities. It needs more time in the bottle to show its best but it’s an intriguing style and well worth a look.
