The 2022 Crayeres Vineyard Reserve is elegant and floral, with dark fruit and exotic spice, tapenade, bay leaf, brick dust and sweet paprika dolce. The tannins are profuse, and they’re very present. They are finely wrought and mouth-coating, yet the wine still has distinction and sophistication. The nose exudes graphite, cold tea, dried flowers and salted licorice. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. The 2022 Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Shiraz Franc is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (66%), Shiraz (17%) and Cabernet Franc (17%). The Shiraz was harvested between March 28 and April 1, 2022; the Cabernet Franc was harvested on April 6, 2022; and the Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested between April 11 and 12, 2022. The wine was fermented and macerated in Potter fermenters before being aged in new French oak barrels for 14 months. It was then blended and matured in an old oak foudre for a further six months. The wine was aged in bottle for 18 months prior to release.
