It tastes of gooseberry, lemon barley, grass, candied citrus, hay and mango skins – with fine/light traces of cedar and woodsmoke – but it’s the texture and the weight and the impression of opulence that really wins you over. It’s also cutting and long-flavoured, though the parade that comes before is the chief impression. It’s a wonderful wine. It gives until it hurts, and prosecutes in full. 94+ Points
