Terre á Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
“Produced from the close planted Crayères vineyard the wine is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Shiraz. It was aged for 10 months in 48% new oak as individual parcels, before being blended and aged in large oak for a further 18 months. Less than 6000 bottles produced.
This is a breathtaking wine, it is floral and pretty on the nose taking on the large portion of new oak yet retains its varietal appeal with generosity of blackberry fruit and a suggestion of liquorice and graphite.
The palate is all about balance, this is the complete package with a flowing background of fruit and oak tannin that enjoys a plushness of dark berry fruits yet has bright acidity and layers of spice. To finish there is unsweetened liquorice strap to driving blackberry. A wine that will live and evolve for decades.” Patrick Eckel
