Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2022
Author: Marc Malouf | Wine Worth Writing About
Deep crimson with a nose of baked strawberry, fresh fig, raspberry frogs, dried citrus zest, green olive, black pepper, paper bark, white tea, tomato leaf, tobacco and graphite.
In the mouth it drives long with intensity of fruit that shines with fresh acidity and steers a little darker than the nose thanks to a small addition of Shiraz that fleshes out the core. It twists with florals, complex spice and earthy tobacco-like notes and creates a sweet spot between sweet and savoury. A broad covering of firm sinewy tannins hold with tension and rigidity, drying the palate and giving a very gravelly texture that last all the way to a reaching tail. Wow, this is probably the most serious Cabernet Franc I’ve seen from this wonderful producer and blows the price to quality ratio out of the water! Insane value and all class.
