Deep, dark ruby with a complex and tightly woven nose of savoury/earthy, yet ripe red and black berries, sweet florals, a touch of citrus zest, pomegranate molasses, roasted peppers, grilled venison, white tea, complex spice and that warming baked bread aroma I sometimes see from Bordeaux. In the mouth it’s harmonious, elegant and finely structured with a core of deep, brooding and flavourful dark fruits and spice that are backed by seamlessly woven acidity and classy, supple tannins. There’s concentration and depth without heaviness, allowing it to flow effortlessly across its arc, growing with mineral complexity to a long tail reverberating of graphite, blackberry, a hint of bay leaf, and violets. What a wine!!! Another example that shows just how brilliant the wines of Terre à Terre are.
