“This is an exceptionally good Aussie fizz” 94 Points – Ken Gargett | Wine Pilot

CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

The 12th release of this wine, it is 100% Chardonnay from the Bizot Vineyard in Piccadilly Valley. Under Diam. 2022 was a very fine vintage for table wines and this is obviously carried on to sparklers. Whole bunch pressed, fermentation was in aged 600-litre barrels. After the secondary fermentation, the wine spent more than four years, in total, on lees. A shining straw/yellow hue, the nose offers intriguing aromas of lemon cheesecake with a flick of florals and spices, well supported by citrus. This is an exceptionally good Aussie fizz. There is a touch of brioche, seemingly more evident on the palate. The wine is very well balanced with wonderful length, and the intensity is maintained throughout. A line of bright acidity helps tie things together. Like this a lot. A ten-year proposition.
