“Intriguing, tense and addictive”

CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Franc Shiraz 2018

“Deep crimson with a purple hue and a floral and earthy nose of velvet rose, cherry, blackberry, strawberry, cola, chocolate, coffee, peppered beef and thyme. A touch of terracotta, olive and raw pumpkin adds to the complexity.
In the mouth it’s rustic, firm, tense and juicy. Dry, dusty tannins grip and hold, while a red berry hum of acidity drives and swells with slightly jubey flavours of dark and red berries and a bitter cherry stone accent. Vanilla and brulée notes follow, along with mastic and cocoa powder, leading to a somewhat hollow midpalate. Unresolved and a little short, but swirling with energy. The tail appears after a pause in momentum with dried orange, blackberry and plum skins. Intriguing, tense and addictive!”
