Down to Earth Sauvignon Blanc 2016

A portion of the wine was fermented in tank with the reminder in French oak Founders and Demi-muids, it was then aged on lees for six months in a combination of tank and oak.

The fume blanc style is one that Xavier Bizot is a master, the expression of Sauvignon Blanc that has been crafted here is as interesting as it is textural. A very compelling proposition for a tick over $25.

A light yellow in the glass, the nose enjoys the interplay between varietal tropical and herbaceous notes and funky almost blue cheese like lees induced aromatics.

There is an understated lemony aspect to nectarine fruit on the palate that is framed by finely textured acidity. There is length of savoury passionfruit and dried herbs to finish.
