Terre a Terre Crayères Vineyard Reserve 2014
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (95%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) sourced from the Crayeres Vineyard in Wrattonbully. The quality, elegance and longevity of this wine continues to rise and over time I can see this wine moving towards Icon status for South Australian Cabernet if it’s not already there.
A deep dark red in the glass the nose is steeped in cassis and boysenberry with finely embellished french oak giving an aromatic lift to graphite and violets.
The structure of this wine is impeccable, tannins are firm yet finely filamented and provide the backbone to a deeply enjoyable expression of dark fruits that is accentuated by dark chocolate and flashes of vanillin oak. The finish has a concentration of blackberry fruit that has excellent persistence.
Approachable now but will age gracefully over the next decade or more.
