CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

A sneak peek prior to the wine’s release on 1st May 2026. Another vintage blend change up: Shiraz (43%) Cabernet Sauvignon (38%) and Cabernet Franc (19%). The close-spaced Crayères Vineyard (1.5m by 1.5m, with a low fruiting wire) is grown on the 37-million-year-old Terra Rossa ridge in Wrattonbully. Maturation in French oak barrels (12% new) and old foudres for 15 months. Deep garnet hue. Deliciously darkly fruited: blackberry, mulberry, black olive, plum jam, bramble, white pepper, touches of spearmint, graphite, violets, soft oak sweetness and cedar. Youthful. There’s a vast spread of wonderful dusty tannins wrapping a core of velvet, dark fruit. The finish has a tight focus with a minerally slant and some regional acid cut. Serve with a hefty protein-rich dish or wait for a couple of years. 93 Points
