Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2014

First release of this wine from vines planted in 2008. Hand picked on 8 April and fermented at Tiers winery in Adelaide Hills for 24 days before being put into barriques (30% new) for 18 months’ maturation. Very round and ripe. Great smoothness and tannin management so that the lusciousness of the fruit dominates the fine tannins which insist only on the very end. This is not the most fragrant nor the most varietally typical Cabernet Franc but it is very pretty and satisfying. And should improve in bottle – unlike its sibling Rouge.
