50/46/4% pinot meunier (fermented in tank)/pinot noir/chardonnay (both fermented and matured in oak barrels). A splash of pinot noir is dosed in for colour. Almost three years on lees in bottle, too. There’s a good deal of savouriness to this wine, with suggestions of rosehip tea, ginger and white balsamic joined by poached strawberries, cranberry drink and pomegranate juice. The bouquet is more savoury, with a touch of sea spray present, and the palate is vigorous in foamy fizz and quite vinous. It’s a class act with complexity on its side.
