Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2020
Arther: Regan Drew | Vino Notebook
“This release sees Cabernet Sauvignon at 66% and Shiraz at 34%. No Cabernet Franc. The close spaced Crayères Vineyard (1.5m by 1.5m) is grown on the 37 million year old Terra Rossa ridge in Wrattonbully. Note, bottle image is of the 2018 but there are no other changes apart from the vintage date.
Deep garnet colour. Fragrant cassis and white pepper with a touch of choc milk sweetness, rosewood sideboard, deep cabbage rose florals, dark raspberry, turned brown earth, trodden bramble, fresh bay leaf and a hint of spearmint. A harmonious palate that delivers more savoury than sweet. Wonderfully knit tannins binding a tight and straight flow of dark berry, brambly fruit and lingering sharp peppery spice. Achieves what it sets out to do with class, restraint and elegance. Yet again, another cellar friendly release.”
