CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Shiraz 2022

Author: Ken Gargett | Wine Pilot

A very fine example of the great Aussie red blend – the family has something of a history with the style as those with long memories, or those who are simply old, might recall that the legendary Brian Croser (father and father-in-law to our heroes at T à T) might be well known for his superb Petaluma Cabernet (amongst a number of wines), but the very first release, the 1979, was actually a Cabernet Shiraz blend. Apologies for the digression. This wine spent fourteen months in old French oak barrels. 4,650 six-packs were made. Crimson purple, the nose gives us notes of red fruits, spices, dried herbs, tobacco leaves, redcurrants and red cherries. A wine with direction and vibrant energy, it is balanced and has excellent length, finishing with sleek tannins. This has at least ten years of providing great drinking ahead of it.
