CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Reserve 2020

What a wine, and a benchmark example for great Australian red blends.

Deep cherry red with a pretty, floral and complex nose of potpourri, lavender, rosemary flowers, blackberry bud, macerated cherry, red and black berries, grilled plum, crème de cassis, green hazelnut, thyme, hints of chipotle pepper, muscovado sugar, sweet cocoa, cedar, leather, graphite and blonde tobacco. In the mouth it’s smooth, powerful yet elegant, textured with firm, fine, tight and tall tannins and drives with intense, vibrant and juicy red and black fruits that have been kissed with oak spice. The balance is stunning and allows each variety to express itself without any heaviness. A seam of minerality weaves its way through the fruit in a fantastic way and adds another dimension of texture and complexity as it drifts effortlessly over a long and reaching tail. What a wine, and a benchmark example for great Australian red blends.
