Lucy Croser and Xavier Bizot called one label Terre à Terre (French for “down to earth”) and the other … Down to Earth (there’s no room here to explain). This barrel-fermented style used to be called fumé blanc, and it’s one of the few sauvignon blancs that can be aged. It’s sensational: elegant yet bursting with freshness. With only 840 dozen released, best to hurry.
