Cabernet franc leads the way (60%) in this blend with shiraz and cabernet sauvignon. Grown in the Wrattonbully region.
I think the phrase is ‘structural integrity’. It’s strung with herbs, grasses and dry tannin, the flesh of fruit playing second fiddle to the framework. Whether or not it’s 100% pitch perfect in terms of balance is a question worth raising; I couldn’t quite make up my mind. You’d describe the wine as light to medium in terms of both colour and volume, though the flavours rest heavily on the tongue, in no small part due to that tannin. Needs a year or two in bottle I’d suggest.
