Terre à Terre Crayeres Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Author: Andrew Graham | Oz Wine Review
“This might be the best Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc yet.
Importantly, this vintage is fleshier, more open and accessible than any I can think of, which is a welcome change for a Sauv that so often tastes unready. However, this isn’t just another Sauv – it’s a Bordeaux Blanc-inspired style, with grapes from the close-planted Crayères Vineyard in Wrattonbully, fermented and matured in old French demi-muids.
The textural layers make this interesting, too. There’s a lovely stone fruit varietal flourish, a little vanilla bean, with an aromatic profile that is more Sauv than barrel-fermented white, and then this creamy nectarine palate and stony acidity. There’s still the arms and legs pointiness on the finish; just to remind it could do with more time (add a plus sign to the score), but I like it.”

Good now, probably even better next Christmas. It will live for a decade too
