Bright, medium to light yellow colour, with a nutty barrel-influenced bouquet, the palate savoury and dry, but also soft and quite rich. The wine is smooth and savoury, very dry and somehow still conveys an impression of richness, thanks to the oaked component, which adds softness, roundness and textural qualities. There are obvious aldehydes which are nicely handled, contributing extra character. A very smart wine. (Bizot Vineyard, Piccadilly Valley. 43 months on lees; disgorged July 2015) 16/9/2015
