CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

DAOSA Natural Réserve 7th Release

Arther: Regan Drew | VinoNoteBook

The 7th release of this label from Xavier and Lucy Bizot. Comprising 85% from the 2022 vintage, a blend of Pinot Noir (57%) and Chardonnay (35%) and Pinot Meunier (8%), with the remainder coming from reserve 2020 and 2021 base wines. Tiraged in early October 2022 with disgorgement in April 2024.

Pale straw in colour with rapid and tight beading. It takes a moment for it all to sink in. The blend of grapes and the winemaking offer such unique inputs to the sum of the whole. Richness and depth of bakery and patisserie aromas, roast white meats over red fruits (and white cherries), crushed chalk, honeysuckle and barley sugar sweet hints, nutty things and yellow citrus flesh. Intensity and lift. Supercharging and rushing with such speed and electricity. There’s a slaty, drying minerally feel over some bitter herb echoes, but overall an incredible freshness and vibrancy.
