Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2015

The wine is sourced from Terre a Terre close planted vineyard in Wrattonbully, the wine had a long cold soak prior to being fermented in 600l demi-muids with 20% new oak and the wine spending 9 months on lees. The resultant wine has texture and character wth a defined savoury edge to a variety that can otherwise suffer from youthful exuberance.

A light yellow in the glass the nose gives savoury, herbaceous notes to understated passionfruit and pineapple, time on lees has given depth and works well with crunchy acidity, the wine has touches of wood spice and grassiness to baked tropical fruits to finish. The length is impressive, this is a standout Sauvignon Blanc.
