Daosa Natural Réserve – 2016 tirage
Daosa is the sparkling project associated with the Terre a Terre team Xavier Bizot, from the Bollinger family, and his wife Lucy Croser, daughter of Petaluma founder and now Tapanappa head Brian Croser. So there’s a lot of background nous in these bubbles, sourced from two high altitude Piccadilly Valley vineyards. It’s a marriage of 85% pinot noir and 15% chardonnay, bringing in a decent amount of reserve wine as well, 18 months on lees in the bottle. It’s deliciously ripe with all the right mix of citrus florals and strawberry flavours, good minerality and mouth-watering structure. Lots to like.
