CREATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WINES

Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2020

“Worthy to be in the same conversations of top notch Australian Sauvignon Blanc, along with the Domaine A Lady A and the Rivulet Wines Verdure. Grapes from the 37 million year old soils of Wrattonbully. Made in a “Bordeaux Blanc” or “Sancerre” style: 3 weeks cold stabilisation, then fermentation in 6 old 600L French oak “demi-mud” barrels. Aged on full lees for 8 months, then racked across to stainless steel for a month before bottling.

Pale lemon hue. Fragrant passionfruit, citrus and frangipane blossom, café latte creamy richness, plenty of struck flint, raw cashew, fresh picked young asparagus spears and brine. Put simply, this reeks of class. Palate is sublime. This has everything you want and more. There’s delicacy, purity, complexity, tension, generosity, focus and length. I gave the 2019 high points, this goes one better.”
